Scientific Name: Neoregelia cvs..

-Care Recommendations By The Dude-

Best for These Animals: Frogs, especially arboreal (tree-dwelling) ones, leaning towards the smaller size since bromeliad offsets are not as big as mature-sized mother bromeliads.  Also great for other small amphibians and reptiles, especially arboreal (tree-dwelling) ones.

Bio Dude Substrates: TerraFlora, TerraFauna

Soil Depth: Shallow to moderate with proper drainage, can be mounted on wood, branches, or backgrounds.

Lighting: Most light levels suitable, with higher light promoting brighter coloration.

Humidity & Misting: 40%-100% *Higher humidity preferred, but can tolerate low humidity once established.

Mature Plant Size & Root System: Neoregelia stay low and grow wider with age sending out shoots with "pups" or offsets that will eventually grow to full-sized plants, blooming at the center of the plant! These pups can be separated once mature if desired.  They have shallow fibrous root system, mostly used for anchorage rather than water absorption, as this plant mainly uptakes nutrients by being watered into the center of the plant, allowing the water to flow down into the "tanks" between the leaves of the bromeliad.

Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium: High temperature tolerant, and can be somewhat drought tolerant when established.  It can be used as a front (low) placement or mounted (in high humidity environments).

Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: Non-toxic if consumed, though these are typically used for ornamental, not edible, purposes

Pot Size & Packaging: A 1-count bromeliad Neoregelia offset plant is shipped bare-root, wrapped in newspaper.
