-Care Recommendations By The Dude-
Best for These Animals: Small and some medium-sized reptiles and amphibians from tropical and temperate climates; especially arboreal (tree-dwelling) species. Please note that while these plants have thick, sturdy stems, the leaves can be fragile and may not support the weight of larger animals.
Bio Dude Substrates: TerraFlora, TerraFauna, TerraFirma
Soil Depth: Moderate to deep.
Lighting: Bright, indirect light.
Humidity & Misting: 40 - 100%; with higher humidity levels preferred for optimal growth.
Mature Plant Size & Root System: The aralia has an upright, bushy form with a central woody trunk, creating a bonsai-like or miniature tree appearance. While it can reach 3-5 feet in height indoors, its growth rate is moderate and can be controlled by trimming. Pruning can also help to maintain shape and promote bushier growth.
Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: Aralia are members of the Araliacea plant family, which contain mildly toxic compounds in their leaves and can cause some irritation if ingested. However, these plants are used for ornamental, not edible, purposes and reptiles and amphibians rarely ingest them.
Pot Size & Packaging: A single 6" potted aralia plant will be shipped in the pot, wrapped in paper.
