4" Pot Ivy Assorted

A selection of The Dude's tropical ivies!  These low-lying, spreading groundcovers, of various types, will root out as they grow along, and can also climb up certain backgrounds or pieces of wood, adding a lush carpet of foliage to your tropical or temperate-climate enclosures.

Best for These Animals: Geckos, snakes, skinks, frogs, toads, many arachnids and more! 

Bio Dude Substrates: Terra Flora, Terra Fauna, Terra Firma and Terra Aranea

Soil Depth: All soil depths

Lighting: Low to medium, some bright indirect light.  Do not place underneath a heat or basking lamp.

Humidity & Misting: 40% - 100%, with higher humidity levels preferred for optimal growth.

Mature Plant Size & Root System: Can root out as it grows along the soil or on wood, meaning each plant can eventually grow over a large area.  However, it can be easily pruned to maintained desired shape or size.  They have shallow, fibrous root systems.

Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium: Prefers temperatures in the 65-80 degree Fahrenheit range, but can take between 60 and 85 degrees.  Best used as an undergrowth or ground cover; can also grow up woody backgrounds or limbs, and can be mounted in certain high humidity conditions.

Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: These ivies are members of the Araliacea plant family, which contain mildly toxic compounds in their leaves and can cause some irritation if ingested.  However, these plants are used for ornamental, not edible, purposes and reptiles and amphibians rarely ingest them.
