Best for These Animals: Small and moderate sized reptiles and amphibians from tropical and temperate climates.  Especially suited for tree frogs and other amphibians that like high humidity, aquatic, and semi-aquatic habitats.

Bio Dude Substrates: TerraFlora, TerraFauna, TerraFirma

Soil Depth: Moderate to deep.  Can also be placed near or in water features.

Lighting: All light levels, as long as its indirect.  Do not place directly under a heat bulb or basking lamp.

Humidity & Misting: 40%-100%, with higher levels suggested for optimal growth.

Mature Plant Size & Root System: This very fast growing plant will form vines that will creep and climb wherever it can! Vigorous root system will burrow deep and/or form aerial roots to cling to surfaces in high humidity environments.  Can also be semi-aquatic if placed near or in water features.

Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium: Too high temperatures or low humidity may cause leaves to brown.  Best used as a back or wall planting, or ground cover if maintained low.  Can also be placed near or in water features.

Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: Arrowhead vines are members of the family Araceae, so they contain low levels of oxalic acid and sharp calcium oxalate crystals known as raphides. Ingestion is not recommended and may cause oral irritation, however, reptiles and amphibians do not commonly eat them.
