Plagiomnium Moss Care Sheet

Scientific Name: Plagiomnium Cuspidatum 

Lighting Requirements:

Plagiomnium moss does best in moderate to high indirect light. Full-spectrum LED grow lights help maintain its vibrant green color and encourage healthy growth. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can dry out and damage the moss.

Humidity & Watering:

This moss thrives in high humidity (70-90%) and should be misted regularly to keep it consistently moist. Use RO, distilled, or dechlorinated water to prevent mineral buildup that can lead to browning or thinning of the moss.

Temperature Range:

Plagiomnium moss prefers temperatures between 60-80°F. It can tolerate slight fluctuations but should not be exposed to extreme heat or cold.

Substrate & Placement:

This moss does well on moist, well-draining substrates like sphagnum moss, coconut fiber, or bioactive soil. It can be placed on logs, rocks, or soil mounds, where it spreads in a lush, carpet-like formation.

Growth & Maintenance:

Plagiomnium moss grows in dense, creeping mats and requires minimal maintenance. No trimming or fertilization is needed. If it starts to dry out, increase misting frequency to restore its lush appearance.
